Classical oil landscape paintings by Florence Academy Artist Louis Guidetti. Commission inquiries welcome.
When painting a landscape, I prefer to go on site to paint. This is called “plenaire” painting and it refers to painting outdoors directly from life. It is not always possible to go on site so I am open to working from photographs provided the photograph is sufficient. I often take my own either for study or to work from. My goal is always to make the oil paintings as realistic and painterly as possible without giving them the photograph look. I am also able to work from imagination if it is required. My paintings are of the highest quality as I paint them on birch wood panels. Birch wood is very durable and can withstand the test of time. I always coat the painting with a layer of varnish after it has dried for a period of time. This ensures its protection and brings out the colors and lights as if it was freshly painted.
